Although many will disagree with working with Dreamweaver 9 , I used it extensively to do almost all of my website design and maintainence. It’s really useful when you are working with two to three hundred files as you can open a few of the all at the same window and work with it.

However , Dreamweaver 9 crashed on me last night , making me spend hours trying to fix it. After reading a dozen over pages , I managed to fix it. Here’s what I did

Re-create Dreamweaver 9 cache file by doing the following

To re-create the Dreamweaver user’s Configuration folder on Windows XP:

Quit Dreamweaver.

Go to Start > My Computer.

Rename Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration to Configuration Old.

To re-create the Dreamweaver user’s Configuration folder on Windows Vista:

Quit Dreamweaver.

Go to Start > Computer.

Rename Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration to Configuration Old.

Export and then delete the registry key on your Registry by

In Windows XP:

Go to Start > Run > type in “regedit” and press enter. In the Registry Editor, delete the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9

In Windows Vista:

Go to Start, type “regedit” in the search field and press enter. In the Registry Editor, delete the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9

If you still have problems loading then follow the steps above again and this time rename/delete your site folders.
